Sometimes you need the next date, not the whole calendar. Shortcuts make common rota actions easier to reach while preserving the same underlying schedule. Leave and swap records matter here too: an answer is only useful when it reflects the changes you have already made.
Find a shift without searching the calendar
Use Get Next Shift to check the next working shift in your active schedule. Get Next Time Off helps find an upcoming day off or weekend off. The actions use the rota with supported leave and swap changes applied.
Discover the available RotaFlow actions in Apple’s Shortcuts app. Available phrases and voice behavior can vary with the language and operating-system features on your device. Keep the app installed and your intended schedule active.
Review a change before it becomes part of your rota
The Update Schedule flow accepts supported natural-language descriptions of special days, swaps and date ranges. RotaFlow interprets the request and presents a preview. Read the selected dates and change type, then save or cancel.
Relative dates deserve particular care. “Next Friday” depends on when you ask. A clear preview is more important than a confident-sounding response, especially when a night shift ends on the next calendar day.
Log extra work with the right context
Pro enables overtime logging through Siri. The action uses your existing overtime settings, including the default rate and currency, and guards against duplicate entries for a date. Review the result in the app when the amount or date needs a correction.
Do not describe a normal scheduled shift as overtime unless that is how you intend to record it. A voice action is a faster entry route, not a replacement for checking the work record.
Separate Shortcuts from Apple Intelligence
Siri and App Shortcuts are not the same thing as Apple Intelligence features. Smart Swap Suggestions and supported on-device language features depend on a compatible device, software, language and feature availability.
RotaFlow remains a shift planner without these optional features. Manual editing is still the dependable path when a voice request is ambiguous or a device does not support the intelligence feature you are trying to use.
