What to record on each change
Good shift records need more than a colored day. Add the changed shift, date range, reason, and any note that will matter later: who you swapped with, whether it affects pay, whether it replaces leave, and whether the change is temporary or part of a longer block. That detail makes the calendar useful for memory, payroll checks, and family planning.
